Biography
Born in Nantes, France in 1981.
Lives and works in France.
Pierre-Yves Riveau aka PEZ has been influenced from an early age by graffiti and hip hop culture, and by a host of artists such as Klimt, Magritte, Escher, Dali, Banksy, Kaws and many others. Most of the time, he works unconventionally, almost exclusively from his imagination, and sometimes the process serves the idea and not the other way around. When Pez was a child, he used to hold his pencil incorrectly, and his teacher punished him frequently. He still does, and that's not going to change.
“I don't think I have some kind of mission or anything because I'm an artist. I add messages to my work because I like it, but I'll never force myself if I have nothing to say.”
